Dary 4: Where It All Began...Philadelphia

Today, we journeyed to Philadelphia to view the Independence Hall, Liberty Bell and the burial place of Benjamin Franklin. We all boarded the buses early in the morning for a two hour trip to Philadelphia.

We visited the Constitution Center where students were able to visit the wax museum, which was a replica of the room where the representatives signed the Constitution. Some of the students were able to take a picture with Elbridge Gerry, who is a direct decedent of Mrs. Cornelia Corbett! Although he was in the room during the signing of the Constitution, Mr. Gerry chose not to sign.

We also got a chance to visit Independence Hall where the students were able to view the actual room where the representatives met to discuss this important document. This was also a place where the students took time to visit with and make new friends!

It was just as important to view the Liberty Bell, where Olivia Madrid and Rachel Lykins took time to pose for a lovely picture!

After a full and cold day, we boarded the buses and journeyed back to Washington, DC. Tomorrow, we're off to visit the National Archives and the National Museum of American History. Then it's home to Tampa, FL!!
